Loose cannon: dùng để chỉ một người khó đoán, tính tình bốc đồng, thường cư xử một cách liều lĩnh và không biết kiểm soát mình. ‘Loose cannon’ được sử dụng để mô tả một người không đáng tin cậy, thiếu kỷ luật và gây rủi ro hoặc nguy hiểm cho người khác do hành động hoặc hành vi không thể đoán trước của họ.
Từ ‘Loose cannon’ có nguồn gốc từ chiến tranh hải quân, trong đó một khẩu pháo bị đứt khỏi ra dây buộc trong trận chiến trên tàu và có thể gây ra thiệt hại đáng kể và gây nguy hiểm cho thủy thủ đoàn.
