Tick off (1): kiểm tra hoặc đánh dấu các mục trong danh sách.

Ví dụ:

  • Make sure to tick off all the items on your grocery list before going to the store.
  • I love the sense of achievement that comes from ticking off completed assignments in my planner.
  • The librarian will tick off the books that you return to the library’s database.
  • The teacher suggested that the students tick off their names on the attendance sheet.

Tick off (2): sử dụng ngón tay để đếm hoặc theo dõi các mục một cách tuần tự.

Ví dụ:

  • The teacher asked us to tick off the correct answers on our fingers as she read out the questions.
  • He was having trouble remembering all of the steps, so he started to tick them off on his fingers one by one.

Tick off (3): làm cho ai đó tức giận, khó chịu, bực bội bởi một hành vi hoặc thái độ cụ thể. (được sử dụng nhiều trong American English)
